Basketball Training in Shoreham, NY

ELITE SKILL DEVELOPMENT NEAR WARDENCLYFFE

Don't let a championship roster leave you behind.

Shoreham is a peaceful, family-oriented community, but the basketball played at SWR High School is anything but quiet. With the Wildcats boasting dominant records (11-2 for the boys, 10-0 for the girls), earning a spot on the floor is harder than ever. When the school gyms are locked for team practice and the outdoor courts near North Country Road are frozen, independent development becomes the deciding factor. X-Factor Basketball Training provides the consistent, high-intensity environment you need to compete for minutes on a winning team.

We are not a recreational league. We provide advanced, pro-level instruction for players who are ready to separate themselves from the crowd and refine their mechanics, footwork, and basketball IQ under the guidance of a current professional.

Why Choose Us

Bridge the Winter Training Gap

Shoreham winters are damp and freezing, making outdoor training impossible for months. We provide the climate-controlled consistency you need to keep your skills sharp when the weather turns on Route 25A.

Professional Pedigree

You are training with Xavier Allen, a NY State scoring leader and active pro. This is mentorship rooted in real high-level experience, teaching you exactly what it takes to contribute to a championship-caliber program like SWR.

No Beginners Allowed

We respect the "Wildcat" standard of excellence. We do not accept beginners. You will train alongside other motivated, competitive athletes who are at an "Advanced 6th Grade" level or higher.

Concierge Training Options

We know Shoreham families value quality and convenience. While our main hub is in Quogue, we offer premium "travel-to-you" options for clients with access to private indoor facilities, bringing pro-level development to your doorstep.

Private & Semi-Private Training

The Shoreham-Wading River Wildcats are currently dominating League VI, but staying on top requires players who are constantly evolving. Whether you are fighting for a starting spot or looking to break into the rotation, you need skills that translate to winning basketball. Our Private and Semi-Private training is designed to build the specific assets, shooting consistency, ball-handling under pressure, and defensive IQ, that make you indispensable to a varsity coach.

We do not rely on scripted drills. We work on game-transferable skills that hold up against tough rivals like Center Moriches and Southampton.

Our Focus Areas Include:

Elite Footwork & Balance:

Learning to operate efficiently in tight spaces, mirroring the mechanics Xavier uses against pro competition.

Game-Speed Shot Creation:

Moving beyond stationary shooting to master spacing, pace, and creating your own shot off the dribble.

Basketball IQ & Decision Making:

Understanding why to make a move, not just how. We teach you to see the floor like a pro.

Defensive Mechanics:

Advanced positioning and agility work to ensure you can guard the best player on the opposing team.

Mentorship:

Honest feedback on what it takes to succeed, from a trainer who currently navigates the professional basketball landscape.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where exactly do you train?

My primary, consistent training location is Sportime in Quogue. While this is a drive from Shoreham, it is a dedicated facility for elite work. However, if you have access to a high-quality private indoor gym in Shoreham, I can travel to you for a premium fee.

What are the fees if you travel to Shoreham?

If you require me to travel to Shoreham (e.g., to your home gym or a private facility), there will be an additional gas fee and an overall higher price for labor to account for the travel time. If you prefer the standard rate, you must come to the Quogue location.

Do you accept beginners from Albert G. Prodell Middle School?

No. I maintain a strict standard to ensure the quality of training. Athletes must be at an "Advanced 6th Grade" level or higher with prior competitive experience. I am best suited for players looking to excel in travel, school, or collegiate basketball.

How does this differ from St. Mark CYO or Lightning Basketball?

CYO and Lightning are fantastic for team play and game experience. X-Factor is specialized technical training. We focus on individual skill breakdown, correcting form, teaching footwork, and developing IQ, that is difficult to address during a team practice or league game.

Can you help me prepare for the SWR Wildcats varsity tryouts?

Yes. This is exactly who I serve. With the Wildcats performing so well, tryouts are extremely competitive. I work on the specific skills, consistency, decision-making, and conditioning, that varsity coaches look for when selecting a winning roster.

Do you offer training for off-season maintenance?

Yes. The off-season is where championships are won. While the outdoor courts are open in summer, elite skill acquisition happens indoors. We provide year-round training to ensure you enter the season ready to defend the Wildcats' winning tradition.
