Basketball Training in William Floyd (Shirley/Mastic), NY

ELITE SKILL DEVELOPMENT OFF THE PARKWAY

Don't let a locked gym cost you a roster spot.

The William Floyd Colonials are a powerhouse, boasting multiple League I titles, but that success creates a bottleneck. With over 60 teams fighting for court time at the High School West Gym, getting individual shots up is nearly impossible. When the school gyms are booked and the outdoor courts at the Mastic Athletic Complex are frozen, your development cannot pause. X-Factor Basketball Training provides the consistent, high-intensity environment serious athletes need to thrive.

We are not a recreational program. We provide advanced, pro-level instruction for players who are ready to separate themselves from the crowd and refine their mechanics, footwork, and basketball IQ under the guidance of a current professional.

Why Choose Us

Beat the Winter Freeze

The outdoor courts at Moriches Sports Complex are unusable from December to March. We provide the climate-controlled consistency you need to keep your skills sharp when the William Floyd Parkway is covered in snow.

Professional Pedigree

You are training with Xavier Allen, a NY State scoring leader and active pro. This is mentorship rooted in real high-level experience, helping you reach the standard required to play for a League I championship team.

No Beginners Allowed

We respect the competitive culture of the Colonials. We do not accept beginners. You will train alongside other motivated, competitive athletes who are at an "Advanced 6th Grade" level or higher.

Escape the Congestion

With the high school gyms packed with team practices, finding space to work on your game is tough. We offer a dedicated, distraction-free environment where the focus is 100% on your individual improvement.

1-ON-1 COACHING FOR COLONIAL HOPEFULS

Private & Semi-Private Training

The culture in Mastic and Shirley is built on winning, evidenced by the Colonials' dominance in League I. But staying on top requires players who are constantly evolving. Our Private and Semi-Private training is designed to build the specific assets, shooting consistency, ball-handling under pressure, and defensive IQ, that make you indispensable to a varsity coach. Led by Xavier Allen, we focus on the "Details" that allow you to execute within a winning system while maintaining the ability to take over a game when necessary.

We do not rely on scripted drills. We work on game-transferable skills that hold up against rival programs like Longwood and Bay Shore.

Our Focus Areas Include:

Elite Footwork & Balance:

Learning to operate efficiently in tight spaces, mirroring the mechanics Xavier uses against pro competition.

Game-Speed Shot Creation:

Moving beyond stationary shooting to master spacing, pace, and creating your own shot off the dribble.

Basketball IQ & Decision Making:

Understanding why to make a move, not just how. We teach you to see the floor like a pro.

Defensive Mechanics:

Advanced positioning and agility work to ensure you can guard the best player on the opposing team.

Mentorship:

Honest feedback on what it takes to succeed, from a trainer who currently navigates the professional basketball landscape.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where exactly do you train?

My primary, consistent training location is Sportime in Quogue, which is a short drive east from Shirley and Mastic. It provides a consistent, high-quality indoor court environment. If this location ever changes, I will have it posted clearly.

Will you come to my house or a local facility in Moriches?

I am willing to travel if you have access to a high-quality indoor gym or facility. However, please note that this will incur a gas fee and an overall higher price for labor to account for the travel time. If you are not willing to pay these additional fees, you must come to me at Sportime.

Do you accept beginners from William Floyd Middle School?

No. I maintain a strict standard to ensure the quality of training. Athletes must be at an "Advanced 6th Grade" level or higher with prior competitive experience. I am best suited for players looking to excel in travel, school, or collegiate basketball.

How does this differ from practice at the High School West Gym?

School practice focuses on team plays, schemes, and conditioning for the unit. X-Factor focuses on you. We break down your individual mechanics and decision-making, providing the technical refinement that coaches often don't have time to address during a team practice.

Can you help me prepare for the Colonials varsity tryouts?

Yes. This is exactly who I serve. The William Floyd program is a powerhouse, and roster spots are hard to earn. I work on the specific skills, consistency, decision-making, and toughness, that varsity coaches look for when selecting their team.

Do you work with players from nearby towns like Manorville or Center Moriches?

Yes. I serve the entire area surrounding the William Floyd district. Whether you are coming from Mastic Beach, Shirley, or Center Moriches, if you are a serious athlete committed to the game, you are welcome at X-Factor.
