SOUTHOLD BASKETBALL INSIGHTS
Frequently Asked Questions
Where exactly do you train in the Southold area?
We operate out of dedicated indoor facilities accessible to Southold residents. While public spots like Tasker Park are great for summer runs, our locations are climate-controlled and reserved for focused training, ensuring you have a professional environment to work on your game regardless of the winter weather.
Do you accept beginners from Southold Elementary?
No. We maintain a strict standard to ensure the quality of training for all clients. Athletes must be at an "Advanced 6th Grade" level or higher with prior competitive experience. We are best suited for players looking to excel in travel, school, or collegiate basketball.
How does this differ from the USA Sport Group camps?
General sports camps are designed for broad participation and fun. X-Factor is specialized technical training. We focus on individual skill breakdown, mechanics, and pro-level nuances (spacing, pace, footwork) that are rarely taught in large group settings or recreational camps.
Can you help me prepare for the Southold Settlers season?
Yes. This is exactly who we serve. Our training is designed to translate directly to competitive play. We work on the specific skills, consistency, decision-making, and conditioning, that varsity coaches look for when building their rotations.
Do you offer training during the summer when I'm visiting?
Yes, provided you meet our skill requirements. We know Southold's population grows in the summer. If you are a serious athlete visiting for the season, we can provide the high-intensity maintenance work needed to ensure you return to your home team sharp and improved.
Do you work with players from other North Fork towns?
Yes. While we focus heavily on the Southold community, we welcome serious athletes from neighboring areas like Peconic, Greenport, and Cutchogue. If you are willing to put in the work and drive to us, we will train you.
